Volunteer for Special Events

Our Special Events
Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford holds fundraising and community awareness events. Volunteers are needed to help plan, promote, and run special events. No special classes or training is required of special events volunteers, although previous experience in event planning is helpful.

Volunteer Responsibilities
Special event volunteers begin working on an event project about six months prior to the event. Volunteers meet periodically with our staff and committee members during the planning process. Planning meetings are held approximately every two to three weeks.
